Riverdale
About The Area
Riverdale is a phenomenal area for investment. With its proximity to downtown and allure of living among trendy artisans this area is a prime spot for a Starbucks to open soon. There are large corporate film studios all along the waterfront. The city has earmarked several million dollars in land development money to re-facing this area and making it more a part of the city. Toronto’s first downtown subdivision, The Donlands, is going up to the west of Riverdale. Once the revitalization of Regent Park is completed there will be no reason why the lower east side of Toronto can’t become an area for prominent young urban families. The tree-lined side-streets are complemented by the various styles of Victorian and Georgian dwellings, primarily built between the 1880s and the Depression. The Riverdale Zoo was Toronto’s main animal observation park before the opening of the Toronto Zoo in 1974. Now called Riverdale Farm, it continues as an educational farm for schools and families.
