Moore Park / Davisville
About The Area
The Moore Park and Davisville area is geared towards families with young children. It has an extraordinary selection of public and private schools, with many parkettes and playgrounds. There is a wonderful library and of course convenient access to the public transit system. The original housing stock was built between 1908 and 1930; however there are many new builds in the neighbourhood where smaller homes once were. The many old houses here, often Tudor and Georgian, tend to hit the market briefly before being sold. Moore Park and Davisville has a magnificent abundance of open green space, more of it than any other Central-city neighborhood. This area is bisected by the beautiful Mount Pleasant Cemetery. To the south, east, and west there’s a magnificent ravine system. That means that many residents open their back doors onto wilderness, and the others are only a few minutes walk away. A creek trickles south from under the cemetery land, pops to the surface here and there, and then bubbles through the Vale of Avoca on its way to the Don River.
